Using BCC addresses for outgoing emails
You can now attach a BCC email address to outgoing messages sent from Joomag. This allows you to automatically send a hidden copy of every email to an additional address, without exposing it to the recipient.
The BCC address is configured on a per-contact basis using a custom field in your CRM. Once set up, every email sent to the main contact email will also be BCC'd to the specified address.
💡 Example scenario
Primary email (recipient): regularemail@gmail.com
BCC email: bccemail@gmail.com
After setup, all emails sent to regularemail@gmail.com will also be sent as BCC to bccemail@gmail.com.
⚠️ Important: This functionality applies to all outgoing emails, not only email campaigns, but also system notifications.
Follow the steps below to enable BCC for a specific contact:
-
Create a custom field/label for a contact. Here's how you can do that with forms.
-
Name it
j_email_bcc

- Go to CRM and click on the primary recipient's contact.
- In the j_email_bcc custom field, enter the email address you want to receive BCC copies

-
Save the contact.
That's it! From now on, every email sent to this contact will also be BCC’d to the specified address.
💡Common use case: group or internal emails
This feature is especially useful when you want emails to appear as if they are sent from a public-facing address, while secretly copying an internal or group inbox.
Example:
From (publicly visible): something@yourdomain.com
BCC (custom field): group-email@yourdomain.com
This allows internal teams to stay informed without exposing internal addresses to recipients.
Important Notes & Recommendations
⚠️ Applies to all email types
The BCC address will receive:
-
Email campaign messages
-
System notifications
-
Automated emails
⚠️ Use with caution
We strongly recommend not attaching a BCC address to contacts who:
-
Are subscribed to a magazine
-
Have an active account on joomag.com
Doing so may result in unnecessary or unintended system emails being sent to the BCC address.
